The Millennial Warrior The shield of faith   Above all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Faith is the key that opens the power we need to bind and loose in spiritual warfare.  We take the negative thoughts of our enemy captive and meditate on those of our father. The enemy’s fiery darts that are thrown towards us daily are fear, shame, unworthiness, unforgiveness, rejection,…..

Forty-two years ago today a seventeen year old unwed mother gave birth to a 8lb 13.5 oz baby boy at 4:43 in the afternoon. She thought she would not survive the experience. Her mother sat beside her bed gently stroking her hand, softly declaring over and over all would be okay. This young lady felt loved, as her family and friends awaited the birth of her son. I still feel that love. I am so grateful. Cheryl Lewis

A wounded culture   Wounded individuals maintain a fighting stance with clinched fists before them, always prepared for an anticipated attack. We are a wounded culture residing in a wounded society, ready to fight when we feel our rights have been violated. I am greatly saddened by the disrespectful response of the passengers in the first class section aboard the American Airlines aircraft, concerning one of our fallen soldiers. I’m stepping out! Join a support group My dear mother use to say, “Tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are.” While I accept the fact that I am not a mirror image of my friends, I feel we share a common belief system. Point being, like attracts like. If you are accustomed to exhibiting bad behavior on a regular basis, you will attract, and gravitate towards the bottom feeders. If you wish to change…..

I’m stepping out! Concentrate and commit Each day when you awaken, concentrate on one offensive behavior you wish to work on. After you have selected a behavior or habit you wish to eliminate, commit to resisting the impulse to participate in the behavior throughout your day. Reward yourself when you have successfully made it through a day without participating in the offensive behavior. You must concentrate on one behavior at a time, giving it your full attention. We are all…..

I’m Stepping out! Reprogram your mind Part Three In my last blog I spoke of judging every thought that enters your mind. Productive thoughts produce productive behavior; destructive thoughts produce destructive behavior. If the thought is a productive thought, expound on it and start producing. If the thought is a destructive thought, cast it out of your mind immediately. If you find yourself battling with destructive thoughts, remove yourself from the meditative state of mind by grabbing your Walkman, going for…..

Help I’ve fallen and I can’t get up! Are you wounded?     I feel an honest self-examination is required to determine if an individual is wounded. Once an individual admits there is a problem, the healing process begins. One is incapable of correcting a problem if they do not know, or admit a problem could possibly exist. I love the quote defining insanity. Insanity is repeating the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

The human concept “Somebody’s baby”   Have you ever reflected on what may have happened to a person to render them homeless? I do. I have seen many homeless individuals sleeping in alleys, on sidewalks, or standing on the street corners begging for food or money. I often wonder what kind of family they were born into. I visualize a little baby being placed into the loving arms of his mother, as she looks into his little face for…..
